Stop and Shop Donates $1,000 To MVES
Contribution Will Help Local Elders

The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company, with seven area stores, recently donated $1,000 to Mystic Valley Elder Services (MVES) to support local elders. The contribution came in the form of $10 Stop & Shop gift cards, so that 100 local elders will benefit from the grocer’s donation.

“We’re so grateful that Stop & Shop continues to demonstrate its support of elders who need help maintaining their independence,” said Daniel O’Leary, MVES’s executive director. “These gift cards mean that older adults in our communities, who may need a little assistance in purchasing groceries, will have the help that they need.”

MVES serves eight north suburban communities and will distribute the gift cards to area elders who are most in need of the grocery assistance.

“We’re very proud to support Mystic Valley in their efforts,” said Robert Keane, spokesperson for Stop & Shop. “As a grocer, we do everything we can to ensure people get a nice, nutritious meal.
